The 3X3 NINE hub needs a torque arm to keep the internals of the hub stationary. This allows it to operate as intended.
There are two types of torque arms available:
Dropout
Post Mount adapter
You'll use the Dropout mount if your bike has long enough dropouts to hold onto the boss on the plate. This is the less common option. Your frame will have to have been made for an internally geared hub and have an extended non-drive side dropout.
The post-mount adapter is a more common option for retrofits.
It is up to you to determine whether or not either of these solutions will work for you! We cannot know every bike out there that works or does not work with the hub and torque arm. If you are unsure, email us photos of your non-drive side dropout without a wheel in place and we will let you know which to choose.
Choose either the thru-axle or quick-release option that your frame requires.
